Ottawa Diabetes Journal Club welcomes the Mulvihill Lab
Our Ottawa diabetes journal club now officially off to the races. We meet monthly and have members from the Chee, Abizaid, and Bruin labs at Carleton. We also recently welcomed the Mulvihill lab from University of Ottawa Heart Institute. This week we learned about the role of GATA6 in beta cells. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/29263149

Dr. Bruin presents at OIRM Symposium
This year's OIRM Annual Symposium in Toronto was a fantastic day full of exciting research updates from the Ontario stem cell community. Dr. Bruin presented our work-in-progress studying the impact of persistent pollutants on endocrine cell development, funded by an OIRM New Ideas Grant. Erin MacFarlane and Myriam Hoyeck were also awarded OIRM travel grants to attend the symposium.
